thyssenkrupp Materials Services is pleased to announce the appointment of Dr. Heather Wijdekop as the new CEO of the Business Unit Processing, effective July 1st, 2025. In addition, Dr. Wijdekop will head the Operating Unit Processing North America as CEO. In both roles, she will succeed Norbert Goertz, who will remain interim CFO of the Business Unit Solutions and lead the Corporate Functions for the thyssenkrupp Materials North America headquarters in Southfield, Michigan.

Hydnum Steel is building an innovative flat steel plant in Puertollano, Spain, to become one of the leading green steel producers in Europe. Under the terms of the strategic agreement signed by the two companies, Hydnum Steel will supply thyssenkrupp Materials Processing Europe with up to 100,000 tons of decarbonized flat steel per year for an initial period of seven years from the start of the plant's operations. This commitment underlines the growing interest of major industrial players in low environmental impact steel and reinforces both companies as leaders in terms of sustainability and advanced technology.

Metal processing capabilities for customers in the energy distribution sector expanded
thyssenkrupp Materials Services is expanding its portfolio of metal and plastics service centers in North America with a new plant in Santa Teresa, New Mexico. The plant will focus on the processing and distribution of metals and serve customers in the United States and Mexico. The expansion is supported by the New Mexico Economic Development Department (EDD), which is providing economic incentives to promote job growth and workforce development in the region. Production will begin in the near term, creating approximately 90 new jobs in the U.S.-Mexico border region.
thyssenkrupp Aerospace, one of the world's leading supply chain management and third-party logistics service providers for the commercial Aerospace industry, and Novelis, a leading sustainable aluminum solutions provider and the world leader in aluminum rolling and recycling, have renewed their strategic partnership through a multi-year agreement.
Under the agreement, Novelis will supply specialized, aerospace-grade aluminum from its facilities in Koblenz, Germany, and Zhenjiang, China, to several thyssenkrupp Aerospace key markets in Europe and Asia. The contract provides for the ongoing supply of premium, aircraft-grade aluminum plates and sheets from Novelis to thyssenkrupp Aerospace, reinforcing Novelis' strategic importance as a supplier of innovative aluminum products for the aerospace sector.
